Put In the Work

Let’s talk about it. You have to put in the work to get the results you want to see. And sometimes you put in the work and you still don’t see results. This episode talks about ‘putting in the work.”

I will start by saying that I did not do this podcast the way I normally would. I generally write out my podcasts and then record. Well, yesterday I was on my way to Des Moines and just needed to record this one. However, this also means that I don’t have a full transcript of the podcast so below are the highlights.

If you want results, you have to put in the work. It is easy to look at people and situations and think that they just got it handed to them, or they are naturally good at something. I would say nine times out of ten, that is not the case. They put in the work.

  • Kids…teaching my kids to put in the work is a struggle for me. I feel like I am constantly telling them, but not doing a good job at making them put in the work. That is something I need to do much better as a parent.
  • THIS. Something Better, My Darling. I am not putting in enough work to build this the way I want to. This podcast for example. Only the second one this year. That is not enough. More work here is needed!
  • Diet and exercise. Welp. That is all I am going to say about that. LOL.
  • People I come across at work that don’t want to put in the work and feel like their college degree is enough to get them out of crappy tasks. Nope, sorry, we all have to do those. Put in the work.
  • Marketing. I’ve been in marketing for more than 20 years and I know very well what needs to be done to be successful when marketing…yet, my team doesn’t always execute the way they should. Here too, we need to make sure we are doing everything we know we should be doing.

Again, these are the bullet points, and I would love for you to take a listen to the full podcast!
